Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker has sadly passed away following injuries received during a motorcycle accident late last night (Oct. 31). According to the Orange County Coroner’s office, Lucker was declared dead at 6:17 a.m. this morning (Nov. 1) at UCI Medical Center. The legendary extreme metal vocalist was just 28 years old at the time of his passing.
The band had recently signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment, a new division under the Nuclear Blast brand, and was working on new material for a follow up to 2011’s The Black Crown.
Nuclear Blast have issued the following statement:
"It is with great sadness and regret this morning that we have to report that Mitch Lucker, vocalist of Suicide Silence passed away a few hours ago due to injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. He left us doing what he loved to do most. He was 28 years old and will be sorely missed.
