Wow. These were the only words I could came to mind after seeing these guys for the first time when they supported Kitty Lips. S.I.R started gigging in June 2011 at The Hollywood and Vine, and since then have been like an unstoppable freight train. With songs permeated with heavy riffs like Tombstone and slower bluesy songs like All My Crimes, they are a force to be reckoned with.
They have managed to combine the intensity of bands such as Down and Motorhead into something that situates between Hardrock, Hardcore and Thrash. The particular highlight for me is their cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt”, in which they captured the raw emotion of the Johnny Cash cover without compromising the savageness which emanated from the original. At DnL’s Rock the Ringside, SIR despite being the openers drew in the largest crowd of the evening. They are definitely a band to watch out for if they can maintain their current momentum.

Update: On the fifth on January the band announced they were splitting up for reasons currently undisclosed.
