Hawk of Fury, formed at the start of 2011, are a hard rock/heavy metal outfit currently making the transition from the practice room to the local stages of Scunthorpe. Made up of a group of friends with a penchant for heavy riffs, falsetto vocals, harmony guitars and a touch of prog epicness they are currently self-producing an e.p. while cutting their teeth on the local circuit. Songs include ‘The End of Your Life’, ‘No Compromise’ and the epic ‘Judgement Day’ all of which were played at Lizard King Promotions Presents Scunny’s BIG 4 alongside LAST EXIT, ILLFLOWER and THE OCCUPIER!!!Mike Linehan of LKP says ‘The Hawk are a mighty unstoppable rock machine and certainly will be a massive contender at this year 30th Rock open where they won their Heat on the 23th September at The Tavern, now heading to the semi’s on the 28th September at The Light, Scunthorpe.
Last time they played was their debut live performance and they went down a storm at Rock at The Tavern 3 back in July. The sheer epic and excitable performance literally left everyone in the room lost for words and their faces literally melted by the guitar licking solos, heavy but playful drum beats and the funky bass lines. ALL the crowd could do is roar, scream and shout. The last song ‘Judgement Day’ had all the audience singing along, even though it was the first time it had graced their ears. To say that Hawk of Fury opened the night, the crowd wanted an encore that to me is a sign of many good things to come.
